The pure skin: vulnerable, traceable, close and intimate. Supposedly demonstrating a truth that should be free of status symbols, it nevertheless shows only the outer shell of the body, which is all too often stigmatized.
The medium of photography can depict this surface, illuminate it, capture structure and form, allow features to sink into shadow.
Female read people are often the main protagonists in (nude) photography. The form of representation often sexualizes them. Also a reason why nipples / genitals are censored in social networks.
